Manusher Jonno Foundation and partners have formally launched a campaign named Ógh©v`vq Mwo mgZvÓ on April 17, 2012 through nation wide press conferences. Ministry of Women and Children Affairs formally endorsed the campaign and were present in press conferences. Eight press conferences held in seven divisional cities/towns and one in Rangamati. The partners all over Bangladesh enthusiastically attended the press conference and it brings tremendous effect on media people who attended the press conference and discussed the issues.


The goal and objective of this campaign are Specific Objective of the Campaign:

  • Creating mass awareness about the  contribution of women to family, economy and society at large
  • Educating women and men through effective IEC on how women’s contribution to economy remains unreported and under reported.
  • Sensitizing policy makers and planners that the under valuation of women’s contribution to the society is leading to difficulty in meeting development goals and impacting negatively on the GDP.  
  • Sensitizing the media, print and electronic, advertising companies, private sector etc to portray women in a positive way and reject the stereo typing of women.

Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) is an initiative designed to promote 'human rights' and 'good governance' in Bangladesh . It is committed to:

• Promoting voices of people whose rights are being denied and violated.

• Creating social environment in building people's dignity. 

• Channeling isolated, unlinked efforts about human rights and governance into linked and aligned actions.

• Challenging the vested interests and established hierarchies in the society that perpetuate poverty.

 


Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) provides funding and capacity building support to organizations working on human rights and governance. MJF works in partnership with different stakeholders such as civil society organizations, NGOs, CBOs, government, private sector, research organizations etc.   MJF through its partners assists to ensure entitlements of people by  building their capacity  to demand basic services and  raise voice against rights violation. MJF also works on the supply side with duty bearers so that they are responsive to the demands of people.   

 

 OUR VISION

The dignity and well being of all people (especially poor, marginalized and socially excluded) are ensured by responsible, accountable and transparent duty bearers, the actions of committed and capable defenders and rights holders who are aware and mobilized to claim their rights and entitlements.

 

OUR MISSION

In order to contribute towards the above vision MJF will- Support both financially and technically, a critical mass of public and private organizations working in the area of increasing awareness to demand fulfillment of human rights and improved governance leading to poverty reduction.

 

Facilitate coherence in human rights and governance work in Bangladesh, through networking and policy advocacy.

 

Monitor the human rights and governance situation in the country and make this information available publicly.

 

GOAL  

Improved well-being of poor women, men and children in Bangladesh.
