Name of Implementing Partner  : Eco Development in Bandarban and Trinamul Unnayan Sangstha-TUS in Khagrachari

Project Locations  : Two Districts in Bandarban and Khagrachari. Two Union in Bandarban (Reycha and Rajbilla) and Three Union in Khagrachari (Perachara, Kamalchari , Khagrachari Sadar)

Major Objectives  : To improve wellbeing of Ethnic Women and Girls who are capable to prevent and respond gender based Violence, can access support services and resource and can create economic opportunities.

Project Period :  September 2020 to December 2021

Total Budget Allocation :  BDT.12600000

Project Activities :       

  • Group Formation
  • Organize capacity building training on group management
  • Organize capacity building training on leadership
  • Community-based action plans on SGBV
  • Provide monthly awareness sessions on women rights and violence against women and girls and rights of the ethnic people
  • Establish community information hub
  • Organize different relevant national and international day observation events with platforms ( International Women’s Day, International Rural Women Day
  • Develop and disseminate IEC materials (leaflet/flyer/brochure)
  • Street theatre and cultural show
  • Provide skill training to 150 ethnic women, girls and youth for income generation
  • Provide IGA input support to 300 ethnic women and girls, youth
  • Dialogue with district legal aid committee, lawyers and law enforcement agencies
  • Organize workshops with traditional leaders, bodies and networks on reducing GBV
  • Organize dialogue with formal and traditional leaders governance system on access to services
  • Organize sensitization workshop with relevant networks/ platforms on gender issues, women rights, GBV for mobilization and collective actions
  • Create linkage among different CSOs and strengthen SANAK and YES committee to address GBV at local level
  • Project inception workshop with different stakeholders ( service providers, traditional leaders, Chairman, members of upazila and Ups)
